SISTERS EUCLID

SATURDAY, JANUARY 16 8:00 P.M.
"Featuring the Amazing
Guitar Styles of Kevin Breit"

This quartet is one of the most impressive acts we'
ever booked, and one of my favorites! Their original r
is a mixture of many styles, but it is distinctively un
Kevins' dazzling guitar styles have led to his tourinc
world with Country star Kd Lang, Jazz legend Cassa
Wilson, and Superstar Norah Jones. His incredible gi
of musicians that he has played with for many y
include: Gary Taylor on drums, lan DeSouza on bass,
Rob Guseves on organ. Their combined muscle are
components of the high performance engine called
Sisters Euclid.

PAUL REDDICK
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 6 8:00 P.M.

•The Real Deal Blues!"

Paul Reddick is a songwriter from Toronto who plays
harmonica and sings with a voice that can be as serious
a gun, or as subtle as touch. His music is of the old scho

ANDREW DOWNING
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 27 8:00 P.M.

"Arts and Letters"

Arts and Letters is a group led by two time Juno Award win
ner Andrew Downing. It's one part French Cabaret band
one part German Street band, one part Gypsy Jazz group
and one part Classical Chamber Ensemble. Together w'l-tl-
acclaimed cabaret singer Patricia O'Callaghan they make
a performance that will delight and challenge you in one
fell swoop. Also featured are award winning musicians
Kevin Turcotte (trumpet), William Cairn (trombone), Peter
Lutek (clarinet), David Occhipinti (guitar), Aleksander
Gajic (violin), Joe Phillips (double bass), and Andrew
Downing (cello).

 DAVID FRANCEY

SATURDAY, MARCH 6 8:00 P.M.

"One of Canada's
Fofk Festival Favorites"

David Francey has won MANY awards including four nomi-
nations and three Juno Awards in only 6 years! He has made
a reputation for himself as one of Canada's folk festival
favorites and something of a latter-day Canadian poet laure-
ate. I can't stop listening to his CDs. His songs will be listened
to and sung for years to come. He reminds me of sort of a
Scottish Gordon Lightfoot. Last time he was here people
would call from places like London, Kitchener, Toronto and
Peterborough, ordering several tickets, then asking "so
where is Alliston". In other words, they didn't care where
this next town was, they just wanted to hear David!

LORI CULLEN

SATURDAY. MAY 8 8:00 P.M
"Juno Nominated Jazz/Folk Singer"

brings her stellar band to Alliston for an intimate per-
formance of familiar and original songs. Interpretations
of songs by Bacharach, Coburn, Lightfoot, Nelson, and
Mancini combined with her own engaging compositions
create a genre breaking mix of musicality and engaging
interplay with a band that has played together for many
years. The Metro Times in Detroit says of Lori that "she
has more that enough talent to become the next premier
interpreter of our time. Her band members are KuriE
Swinghammer (guitar), David Matheson (piano). Mark
Mariash (drums), Maury Lafoy (bass).

DREW JURECKA

SATURDAY, MARCH 27 8:00 P.M.

"Grappelli Style Violin Jazz"

Drew Jurecka is a versatile jazz and classical violinist who
works extensively as a studio and live musician on the
Canadian music scene. He has toured, performed and
recorded with Dave Brubeck, Jeff Healey, Jill Barber,
Stuart McLean and the Vinyl Cafe and many others. As a
session player he has recorded on many, albums, as well
as many Television and Movie sound tracks. Drew is also
the Jazz Violin professor in the Jazz Program at the pres-
tigious Humber College. Along with his quartet, Drew will
perform a variety of Jazz standards in a style reminiscent
of several pioneers of the improvised violin, such as Joe
Venuti, Stephan Grappelli and Stuff Smith.

BRIAN PICKELL BAND

SATURDAY, APRIL 17 8:00 P.M.
"Exciting New Celtic Roots Music"

Pulled together by the magnetic, globe trotting composi-
tions of Brian Pickell and a love of traditional music, the
group is both stunningly musical and energizing to listen
to. The band combines the talents of Shane Cook, mul-
tiple winner of the Canadian and Grand Master Fiddle
Contests and the American Grand National, revered
Ottawa multi-instrumentalist James Stephens on fiddle,
mandolin and viola, and Pat O'Gorman, an admired
mainstay of the Canadian music scene, on flute, whistles
and pipes. Julie Schryer is widely considered to be one of
the finest piano accompanists in Canada, and Brian is an
accomplished composer, guitarist, banjo and mandolin
player. Together, they are a musical force of nature.
